And coming soon: car-free Sundays in the heartlands too.

We’ve had our fair share of car-free zones every last Sunday morning of the month since February, but it’ll soon come to a temporary end next month. The six-month pilot, which sees road closures in the CBD and Civic District to vehicles, will go on a hiatus before returning in October.

Minister for National Development Lawrence Wong said yesterday at the fifth edition of the initiative that the government has decided to continue this initiative after seeing how popular and successful this monthly affair has been. They'll be back after a two-month hiatus and review period, after which you can expect car-free zones further and possible iterations in the heartlands.

Over the past few months, we've seen activities such as a breakfast concert, exhibitions, performances, pop-up installations and even yoga sessions. Haven't been to one yet? Here's what to expect.
