Dick Lee to chair 2011 Audi Fashion Festival

Local music icon Dick Lee will take the helm of Audi Fashion Festival as chairman of week-long fashion event from 2011. Although known more for his contributions to local music, Lee was instrumental in the creation of SODA (Society of Designing Arts), Singapore’s first official coming-together of local designers as well as owning Hemispheres, a boutique which showcased only local designers, in the 1980s.
Lee’s appointment comes after the sponsorship reconfirmation of two-time fashion festival sponsor, Audi, the German car-maker. “Since it started last year, the Audi Fashion Festival has grown tremendously to become Singapore’s most recognized fashion platform, not only in Asia, but in the rest of the world. Audi Singapore is pleased to be the presenting sponsor of this prestigious event, which we feel is completely aligned with our brand values of innovation, design and quality,” says Reinhold Carl, managing director of Audi Singapore in a press statement.
