There’s a second LGBT film festival to catch in Singapore this August

Besides the annual IndigNation Queer Films Festival happening at The Projector, along with the super fun after party that ensues, Golden Village will also be holding their very own LGBT-centric film festival on Aug 19-31, screening films curated by the Singapore Film Society.

The Love & Pride Film Festival is eight years old this year, and will be taking place over 12 days at Golden Village Suntec City, and Golden Village Grand at Great World City. On the opening night, Golden Village will be screening a feature documentary titled Oriented, which follows three gay Palestinian friends dealing with their sexual and national identities during the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict, after which you’ll be able to “meet” the film’s director via Skype.

Lorenzo Vigas’ turbulent and dramatic film Desde Alla (From Afar) tells the story of a wealthy middle-aged man who gets involved younger man, which later turns into a complicated relationship that could end up fatal. Other films include Lithuanian film, The Summer of Sangaile, which won a Directing Award for World Cinema at Sundance; Thanatos, Drunk, a Taiwanese film follow two brothers; and many more.
