Singapore’s nocturnal festival is back this August

The annual Singapore Night Festival, held by the National Heritage Board, is back for its ninth edition this year. Spread over the last two weekends of August, you can expect light art installations and street art performances along the Bras Basah and Bugis stretch.

Last year’s theme of glitz and glamor included highlights that featured over 100 acts like flamboyant cabaret routines, improv comedy shows, live music by local bands and even puppetry. This year’s theme, “Inventions and Innovation”, catapults the festival into the world of science fiction and fantasy, promising featured performances and art from local and international artists based on the inspiration of inventors and their quest for discovery.

There’s no word on a Festival Village yet but there’s a chance it could be as cool as last year’s, with local food booths, flea markets and buskers under fairy lights. Don’t forget to mark your calendars with these dates. The countdown starts now.

The Singapore Night Festival happens on Aug 19-20 and 26-27. For more updates, you can also check out their Facebook page and website.
