Led by Spa Esprit Group’s popular French bakery chain Tiong Bahru Bakery (now more a bistro serving full meals) is an upcoming two-day picnic party that is shaping up to be a massive bash.
Weird Wonderful World is happening soon, from Jul 8-9 at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, and the weird but wonderful thing about it is that you shouldn’t be packing your own picnic basket for this. Instead, they have prepared buckets (yes, buckets, not baskets) filled with goodies from Spa Esprit brands like sandwiches from Tiong Bahru Bakery, fish sliders from Open Farm Community, kong ba pau from House, juices, wines and more. Each bucket also come with mats and fans so you don’t need to go through the trouble of bringing your own. There is a helium balloon thrown in too, just because.
If that’s not enough, Open Door Policy, House, Open Farm Community and Common Man Coffee Roasters will be serving their signatures at pop-up stalls found at the Bandstand and Palm Valley areas of the garden. Giant floats in the shape of donuts, flamingos and unicorns to double up as comfy seats are on sale too.
There will be a hive of activity going on as well, since the picnic coincides with the Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Festival. Expect concert performances at the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage, yoga sessions taking place early in the morning and guided tours happening throughout the day.
At the picnic area itself, the guys at Spa Esprit Group have promised lots of inflatables, games of giant Twister and Connect 4, roving buskers, and more. Deets here.
