Not in the mood to head out and enjoy a movie on the silver screens thanks to the virus scare, yet knowing you’re missing out on all the amazing flicks showing now? Not to worry. Back for its fourth annual run this Apr 29-May 10 is outdoor film festival Peroni Sunset Cinema, offering a lineup that’ll readily get you back up to speed.
From its list of nine highly-acclaimed films, Oscar-winning Korean masterpiece Parasite is undoubtedly the highlight, after becoming the first film ever to win Best Motion Picture as well as Best International Feature at the 2020 Academy Awards (they also took Best Director and Best Original Screenplay). Give it the treatment it deserves and catch it on the big screen—but act fast, as we’re sure tickets will soon sell out.
Also showing are World War I epic 1917, American mystery thriller Knives Out, feel-good adventure Peanut Butter Falcon, heart-felt comedy Jojo Rabbit, among other award-winning features.
Each ticket gets you entry into the Tanjong Beach grounds where the screenings take place, as well as seating on a comfy deck chair (first come, first served) and noise-cancelling wireless headphones for optimal sound quality.
All movies begin at 7.45pm, but come starting from 5pm when the gates open and enjoy food by Tanjong Beach Club, drinks (including Peroni beer, of course) from a fully-stocked bar and live tunes from the DJ.
They’ve also ensured the event will go on despite the Covid-19 situation (unless the authorities enforce a cancellation, in which case they’ll refund), so feel free and get your tickets now without worry.
