Cinemas may have reopened (and they’re doing everything they can to lure you in), but those choosing to stay home and stay safe will be glad to know that not one, not two, but 106 Singapore-made shows are coming to Netflix progressively starting Aug 1.
On Aug 1 itself, expect films like the award-winning sensation that is Ilo Ilo, as well as homegrown classics like I Not Stupid, Homerun, 881, Singapore Dreaming and Ah Boys to Men II, plus many more, to be coming online.
Then come Aug 8, another slate of movies including Mee Pok Man, Money No Enough and Liang Po Po The Movie, plus all-time favourie TV shows such as Phua Chu Kang, Growing Up and Bunga Tanjong, will be made available.
Most of the shows from the list of 106 will be out by then, with the rest being released progressively till Oct 30. To help Netflix subscribers better find all the shows, a collection category “Singapore, Now Streaming” will be created. All the releases will be housed under it. Search “SG Now Streaming” to easily access it.
