The annual open air cinema Films At The Fort (FATF) is back with even more award-winning films, new releases, Singapore premieres and nostalgic classics at the natural amphitheater, Fort Canning Park, on Aug 3-19. You’ll get to enjoy these great films under the stars while munching on some gourmet bites and sipping on some fantastic vino
Year in and year out, the tickets for the event sell out before you can even say “outdoor cinema”. FATF is a well-loved soiree clearly enjoyed by many because screenings like this rarely happen in Singapore. But when they do, it usually becomes a massive night of debauchery, insight and culture. Sure, there was the second Peroni Sunset Cinema that took place at Tanjong Beach just two months ago, but besides these two massive mainstays in every film buffs’ calendar and perhaps a couple of ones that pop-up here and there, outdoor screenings like these are few and far between.
Now in its sixth year, FATF will be screening a total of 10 films, including the hilarious murder-mystery film starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, Game Night; the modern thriller A Quiet Place (check out what we thought about it here); a quintessential sci-fi film released on the brink of Y2K, The Matrix; the unforgettable tear-jerking classic The Notebook; the dark comedy focused on motherhood, Tully; among many others. Full list here.
Similar to last year, you can expect The Providore to be on site to set up lil’ booths serving anything from antipasti platters to organic salads and burgers. As for the drinking department, the organizers have once again partnered up with one of the world’s finest wine brands, Casillero del Diablo, for all your vino needs. You’re more than welcome to bring your own food, but not alcohol.
Gates open at 5pm in case you’re up to take in all that Fort Canning has to offer at sundown (along with music by a couple of DJs and instrumentalists) before the screening at 7:30pm. For more information and tickets, click here.
