Inclusivity is a term that gets tossed around a lot, but it’s certainly more than just an office buzzword. This Dec 3-12, seize the opportunity to learn what it truly means at the inaugural True Colors Film Festival, a 10-day digital event organised by True Colors Festival that celebrates artists with disabilities.
Discover 30 award-winning features and short films curated to fit the theme of One World, One Family, which spotlights the universal experience of connection, hope, dreams, struggle, and transformation.
Officially debuting Dec 3, it is no mere coincidence that the opening date also happens to be the International Day of Persons with Disability. So at the festival launch, check out the opening flick 37 Seconds, a riveting tale about a comic book artist with cerebral palsy, and how she navigates disability while building a career in the adult manga industry.
Then, catch other gripping movies such as Over the Horizon, in which a blind photographer and traveller shares his world with sighted people, abd The Soul of Sophanna’s Song, about one man’s will to live and serve against incredible odds.

Other award-winning films which are not to be missed include Listen, a Portugal oscar entry about migrant struggles; Mental, the winner of Best Documentary at the Busan International Film Festival; as well as Poop on Poverty, a Best Film feature at the Golden Horseshoe Grand Prix 2014. Directed by Vijay S. Jodha, the latter highlights the challenge faced by some two billion people everyday while taking a dig at the oblivion of wealthy tourists.
Finally, all the films can be streamed for free on The Projector Plus or Vimeo, and the full line-up can be viewed here. Talks and workshops may be held in conjunction with the film festival, so keep a look out for those as well. And don’t be afraid to check out the True Colors Festival too, to learn more about how you can help support this vibrant and important community.
The True Colors Film Festival happens from Dec 3-12. More information available here.
