Film buffs, you’re in for a real treat this August. ‘Cause in addition to blockbusters like the Suicide Squad sequel hitting theatres and Netflix’s renewal of homegrown shows, Moonlight Cinema is set to return to Gardens by the Bay from Aug 20-22.
Still offering free outdoor movie screenings, the fourth edition of the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) event will continue celebrating storytelling through film—not to mention fostering deeper film appreciation among locals.
So experience the magic of cinema in Singapore’s most prized garden (sorry, Botanic Gardens) thanks to a series of notable Singapore films by directors including Royston Tan, Tan Pin Pin and Ng Xi Jie.
Just enjoy some lighthearted, musical drama excitement with 3688, which stars Joi Chua as a parking attendant named Fei Fei who dreams of a musical career; or check out Singapore GaGa, which features vignettes of Singapore life as well as its everyday sounds and sights. There will also be Singapore Minstrel by Ng Xi Jie, that takes viewers into the mind of Singapore’s wildest busker, Roy Payamal.
And now you’ve got another entertaining yet safe activity to look forward to.
Admission is free with confirmed registration. More information available here.
