International human rights documentary film festival Freedom Film Fest 2016 (FFF) will take place in Kuala Lumpur from Aug 20-28. With the theme “What Lies Beneath” this year’s festival seeks to shed light on human rights and public interest issues that don’t get enough coverage. For your film to qualify, it should be a documentary film up to 60 minutes in length or a short film up to 20 minutes in length completed between 2014 and 2016. If you’re a Malaysian or Singaporean filmmaker working on a project that qualifies for the festival, you can also apply for the FFF Film Grant Program which issues grants of up to RM20,000 or S$5,000. Deadline for submissions is May 1.
