Mexican Film Festival returns to The Projector with award-winning documentaries and dramas alike

Update: The Mexican Film Festival 2021 has been extended till Aug 1 (instead of Jul 25). Dates have been changed accordingly.  

It’s been a rewarding year for the Mexican film industry, and now The Embassy of Mexico is beyond excited to showcase its nation’s success with the Mexican Film Festival here in Singapore. Happening from now till Aug 1, the seventh edition will exhibit flicks by Mexican filmmakers which have snapped up awards and nominations globally.

Proving that its homegrown talents can produce anything from intimate dramas to emotive documentaries, discover a total of 11 movies which will be shown at The Projector and The Projector Plus.

Just mark your calendars for Cindy la Regia, a lighthearted comedy about a woman who flees to Mexico City upon deciding that she doesn’t want to marry her boyfriend; and I Promise You Anarchy, a story about a couple with complicated ties to the mafia.

There’s also the Sundance Film Festival 2019 Grand Jury Prize nominee Midnight Family, a gripping action documentary about a family that operates a private ambulance service.

Finally, look out for Workforce too, as it delves into the injustice and lack of adequate support for construction workers in the built environment sector.
