We’re proud to report that a web series by a Singaporean social entrepreneur will soon be seen by an international audience. Eunice Olsen’s WomenTalk TV is the only Asian entry into the 24th edition of London’s Raindance Festival, the so-called Sundance of the United Kingdom.
WomenTalk TV is a talk show where Olsen herself goes to various locations to interview not-so-famous women, who she believes are doing a noteworthy job by helping people, or inspiring them. She started the show in order to share inspirational stories about women. She has spoken to notable personalities like this year’s Paralympic gold medalist Yip Pin Xiu and bronze medalist Theresa Goh.
An interview with Dr. Maya Battachan, the first female neurosurgeon from Nepal, will be screened on Friday at London’s Vue Picadilly cinema.
It has been a particularly good year for Singapore’s storytellers who have made their mark at international festivals this year, from The Apprentice and A Yellow Bird, which both premiered at Cannes, to short film Bang Bang Club which one a Remi at the Houston International Film Festival. Way to go!
