The Ritz-Carlton’s iconic Chihuly Lounge may have closed, but in its place are brand new concepts doling out afternoon tea and tipples.
Taking over the space once adorned with American sculptor Dale Chihuly’s blown glass sculptures, the newly-introduced Republic bar is a swanky locale that boasts elegance and old world charm. The cocktail bar also shares the refurbished area with a resplendent Library Reception and a plush Lounge section.
All found in the property’s reimagined East Wing, the Library Reception is here to provide a suite of business centre services in addition to offering a grand guest arrival and check-in experience.
Meanwhile, the Lounge that’s adjacent to the Library Reception is perfect for light bites and ala carte dining. Guests will also be able to indulge in a pampering afternoon tea menu, spotlighting scrumptious sweets that can rival any prominent dessert parlour in town.
But the glorious Republic bar is where the magic happens. Paying homage to the 1960s, the concept celebrates legends of rock music and the hottest style icons. In collaboration with the folks at Proof & Company, Republic’s cocktail menu is all about freedom, expression and individuality. That entails drinks like the locally-inspired Mythical Beast as well as the easy-to-drink Satisfaction, a reference to The Rolling Stones’ 1965 hit.
Intimate tasting sessions also await at the Republic’s Home Bar experience which replicate the look and feel of ‘60s home parties. Hosted by in-house bartenders or vintage spirits ambassadors, the small-group events will guarantee an unforgettable affair.
Simply head down to The Ritz-Carlton’s Lounge for some delicious high tea before continuing the evening with cocktails; or better yet, book a well-deserved staycation to experience it all.
The new Republic bar and Lounge is now open at The Ritz-Carlton’s refurbished East Wing. More information available here.
