With the myriad of troubles arising from the various safe travel plans and possible vacations, it may be wise to continue keeping safe in Singapore by simply exploring what the island has to offer. And here to help you do so more efficiently and even get rewarded for it is Breadcrumbs, a newly-launched app that capitalises on AR technology and more.
Created by local marketing and communications agency Anthology during the Circuit Breaker period in an effort to pivot and diversify, the app essentially builds on existing trails to offer a gamified experience. Location-based, the app also allows users to learn more about places and spaces through interactive quizzes.
The official launch of the application is marked by a partnership with Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s Night Safari. Visitors enjoying strolls throughout the park can experience a new twist thanks to the collaborative Wild About Twilight trail featuring points of interest and new exhibits to keep users entertained and engaged.
Simply begin by hopping on any (or eventually even all) of the four walking trails available including the Fishing Cat Trail, Leopard Trail, East Lodge Trail and Wallaby Trail. After downloading the app, open it and look for the trail you’re on before scanning QR codes at signboards erected along the park’s walkway to take simple quizzes and collect experience points (XPs).
Once you’ve completed the trail and answered the questions, you will be entitled to redeem rewards like the limited edition enamel pins from Night Safari. If you’re ambitious, go ahead and partake in a little friendly competition by trying out for the Leaderboard Champion prizes as well. By levelling up with experience points and exploring the Breadcrumbs app, attractive prizes like a Friends of Wildlife membership could be yours.
For now, the Breadcrumbs app is offering the Wild About Twilight trail in partnership with the local nocturnal wildlife park, but more trails may be released in due time. Just download the app and keep your eyes peeled; more information on Breadcrumbs is available here.
