This app traces the history of Sikhs in Singapore

A brand new app, The Sikh Heritage Trail, covers the history and historical places of the Sikh community in Singapore. It’s free to download, and lets you do self-guided tours of areas like major Sikh temples in Bukit Merah and Boon Keng, the Outram area, where many sepoys were based during the British Raj.

The app was launched by Ishvinder Singh and Vithya Subramaniam, who received $10,000 in funding from National Heritage Board to create it. Singh told The Straits Times he got the idea for the app while on a walking tour at Bukit Brown, where he spotted Sikh statues at Chinese tombs, and started finding out more about them.

If you want a personal touch on your walking tour, you can check them out on Facebook for the next one.
