US social networking review website Yelp, launched its Singapore outpost on September 14.
Singaporean users can now start accounts on the website to post their views on local businesses (including restaurants, hotels and museums). Yelp’s free iPhone and Android applications are also available for download.
Singapore is Yelp’s first Asian market. Other new markets for the company include Switzerland, Sweden and Denmark. Yelp is an industry giant in its native country, the United States, garnering 78 million monthly visitors and 30 million reviews since its start in 2006.
