Prout Presents: Queer Trivia Night with Preetipls (Jun 20)
Trivia nights can get extremely competitive. And with prizes such as a Hotel G staycation and treatments worth $200 at body sugaring studio Sugared up for grabs, the stakes are high. Hosted by local comedian and internet personality Preetipls, recruit your best queer gang for a trivia party at Intermission Bar like no other. Allies welcome too.
Project: [Pink] – Cocktail Reception and After Party (Jun 22)
For the third year running, Project: [Pink] invites all guys, gals and non-binary pals to deck out in pink for a free flow cocktail reception of soft drinks, prosecco, red and white wine. Then stay for the after party, hosted by drag queen Genie and supported by DJs Shigeki and Thomas. Expect fun spins that will steer the night into a pink flurry.
Causegay (Jun 22)
Shh…Diam!
The wordplay on the Malaysia-Singapore border as a party name stands for a collaborative LGBT+ entertainment festival with a fierce lineup of queer musical, drag and poetry performances. Get to clapping as Malaysia’s first international queer group Shh… Diam! takes the stage with numbers like “I woke up gay” and “Lonely lesbian”. Local multidisciplinary artist Norah Lea will also be present to explore themes of gender, sexuality and ethnicity through photography, film and the spoken word. Time to stow the perpetual tension between our nations and focus on what’s important: finding strength in the name of art and love, together.
Jump & Jive Dance Workshop (Jun 22)
Don’t let your two left feet deter you from having fun—pick up some sweet moves at this groovy, same-sex dance workshop by Strictly Guys Dancing. Jump & Jive is a no-judgement safe space for all, and we’re talking about both your dance skills and sexual preferences. Tap into your inner dance diva at the hour-and-a-half-long session, while socialising with other gay couples and singles. Who knows, you might just walk out of class ready to throw shapes on the dance floor.
LGBTQuuuute (Jun 27)
All activists and allies know that much work still needs to be done here. The evening at LGBTQuuuute begins as a subversive discussion to foster greater understanding of inclusivity in our society, then concluding in the best way possible once it gets late: a riotous party.
TheBigBlueMat & In The Pink of Things (Jun 29)
If frantic squeezing at Pink Dot isn’t something you’re into, make a detour to Dorothy’s Bar instead. The Wizard of Oz-themed gay nightclub will be livestreaming the Pink Dot event and offering fabulous day-long drink deals until 2am. Follow the yellow brick road in the heart of Chinatown to a pink celebration that you could call home.
