THEATRE
The next Pangdemonium production dives straight into the complexities surrounding #MeToo. Written by local playwright Ken Kwek, This Is What Happens to Pretty Girls finds its weight in real accounts from over 100 women and men Kwek interviewed. Read our interview with him here. May 10-26

Whether you’re a vintage purveyor or a casual flea-goer, the Katong Square Lifestyle & Vintage Market will have something for you. Find a horde of booths hawking all things vintage—haute couture, home decor, keepsakes, jewellery, vinyl records and more. Live DJ acts will be manning the decks as you grab deals left and right, keeping entertainment at a high throughout. May 11

PARTY/MARKET
Part club night, part sneaker con, Drip is Bar Rouge’s first-ever sneaker night in partnership with Sole Superior and Patron. Come at 6pm for the urban apparel vendors like Slickies and Freshly Pressed, and the live sneaker cleaning station; then stay on through the night as DJ Rattle and Mr. Boo drop the best hip-hop and RnB beats to get your freshly shined kicks grooving to. May 10

PARTY
This Is The ‘90s takes over Cherry Discotheque for a night of your favourite ‘90s bangers—from Backstreet Boys to Britney, TLC to Tupac and Biggie—accompanied by stirring visuals from classic ‘90s Hollywood flicks. May 10

Decadence is the word this weekend. Glam up for an avant-garde Monaco soiree, as LuLu’s Lounge Second Anniversary Weekend goes Monte Carlo. The late-night enclave will be transformed into a casino-themed black carpet affair reminiscent of the iconic 007 film, and filled with mesmerising jazz music, unparalleled R&B and funk hits, immersive live performances and tailored cocktails by international bar superstar duo Julyan Phillips and Tertius Wharton. WELLNESS/FESTIVAL
Get your life together and your chakras in place at the Love & Light Festival, back for a second run. Sit down with renowned “light workers” and exhibitors to shed light on your path ahead, or go browsing at the marketplace for some new crystals and art pieces. May 10-12

DRINK/FESTIVAL
The long-awaited Singapore Cocktail Festival 2019 is finally back, with a bumper line-up of boozy fun for all cocktail lovers. Over at the Festival Village, explore pop-ups and a food street, and taste from headlining bartenders from the World’s 50 Best Bars list, who’ll be serving signature drinks for just $12. You’ll want to sign up for the all-new Bar Tours too—a guided four-bar hop highlighting the best of the spirits scene here. May 10-18

FILM/FESTIVAL
Film frenzy begins this weekend, with the return of the European Union Film Festival. Take your pick of 27 films from across Europe; whether it’s high-energy action flicks, musical comedies or even disaster movies, you’re bound to find something to watch. May 10-19

Over 90 brands from Singapore’s sustainable community and dining scene are gathering at the return of Suntec’s Farm-to-People Festival, Sprout. Take part in the all-new cooking masterclasses and workshops, or just stock up with organic honey, teas and the like for your kitchen. May 11-12

DRAG
It’s another colourful, over-the-top affair at RIOT! hosted by national treasure Becca D’ Bus. Support our local drag royalty as they sing, strut, and bring the house (Hard Rock Singapore) down; then stay for the afterparty Queer-aoke by Baby Boy. May 11

MARKET
If you’re looking to spoil your four-legged children even further this month, there’s no better place than at City Square Mall’s PawRentsWeekend. Shop handmade accessories and treats for the furkids, and pick up a couple of locally designed goods to treat yourself as well. On-site grooming services are also available; or if you think you’re ready to expand your family, adopt a little one from the adoption drive at the event. May 11

CONCERT
Singapore just can’t get enough of Jason Mraz, can we? Having performed here recently in Oct 2018, the American singer-songwriter will be stepping onto our sunny island once again with his Good Vibes Tour. May 11

An entire festival dedicated to God’s beautiful eggplant-based creation? Yes please. The quirky Singapore Hummus Festival by Beirut Grill is back for a third edition with a new menu of creamy flavours to complement their signature kebabs and wines. May 12-19

Held poignantly at CBD gallery Hatch Art Project, I Would Prefer Not To Do Anything is a look at deep-rooted fatigue in today’s society. See artist Iqi Qoror’s surrealist works curated to give an intimate look into our universal state of burnout, worsened by an overwhelming culture or need to constantly project positivity. DRINK
In the lead-up to Singapore Cocktail Festival, Nutmeg & Clove is celebrating their 5th anniversary with a series of guest bartender shifts, traversing Bangkok (Ann Pinsuda of The Bamboo Bar) to Australia (Matt Linktaker of Melbourne’s famed Black Pearl). Get chummy with Nutmeg & Clove’s former bar managers too, who will be returning from their respective bars for a joint homecoming shift on opening night. Through May 18

The Geylang Serai Ramadhan Bazaar is back, pasar malam-style, with spreads of open-aired stalls hawking wide varieties of street food. Break fast with your Muslim friends and feast on everything from the classic Ramly burger to refreshing Thai milk teas. In response to the rising concerns around overpriced Instagram food fads monopolising the bazaar in previous years, Wisma Geylang Serai has taken measures to ensure that 60 percent of its stalls will be offering more authentic eats from the bazaar’s heyday—and for the first time in over 40 years, all stalls will be 100% halal. THEATRE
The longest running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Weber’s The Phantom of the Opera, is back in Singapore. If you missed it the last time it was here in 2013, the musical masterpiece makes its long-awaited return to the Sands Theatre. Through Jun 8

Food packaging—beautifully crafted plastic wraps, carton boxes, tin cans and more that inform, entice and make you wanna fork out dough you don’t have. But is that all there is to it?
