Bid October adieu with the Backstreet Boys and the final few Halloween parties

As October draws to a close, attend some of the last few Halloween parties around; but don’t forget to welcome the Backstreet Boys (now technically Backstreet men) and cool pop trio New Hope Club to our shores too. November’s already looking very promising, with the return of the Singapore Writers Festival and so much more.

MUSIC
Originally a duo, George Smith and Blake Richardson were later joined by Reece Bibby from X Factor 2014’s fourth runner-up Stereo Kicks. The trio, aka New Hope Club, rose to fame after uploading a cover of British pop-rock band The Vamps’ "Wake Up". Catch the charming boys who’ll offer radio hits like “Love Again” and “Permission”. CONCERT
Before One Direction and BTS was a five-piece pop group that arguably led the revolution of the new-age boy band scene. Backstreet Boys—now technically Backstreet men—are making their return to Singapore in October this year, as part of their international DNA Tour. Oct 30

WORKSHOP
Spend a relaxing morning learning brush lettering techniques and create unique art pieces of your own at Write With Us - Brush Lettering. The session is completely free, but there’ll be a small charge of $5 if you do wish to take home the brush pen and notes. Oct 30

PARTY
The Weatherman will once again be leading the party at The Council, but this time, with Daryl Knows too. The two will deliver funky beats all night long, so dust off your dancing shoes and come through. Oct 30

COMEDY
A comedy show for those who aren’t afraid to be themselves, check out Siao Char Bors Comedy ft. Keelah Rose Calloway at The Merry Lion come Thursday night. Prepare to bust a lung laughing at all the jokes. Oct 31

PARTY
All aboard the Royal Albatross Superyacht, as a Halloween-themed party will be thrown on the cruise. Don the spookiest outfit you’ve got and get a 1-for-1 promotion on beers. Oct 31

PARTY
Celebrate the spookiest night of the year with your best buds, but also great food and beer. At Little Creatures, a band, activities and prizes will help see you through the evening as well. Oct 31

An evening of boos and booze await at Cook and Brew, as their collab with Bacardi will feature Halloween-themed cocktails crafted by the award-winning bartender, Mike Cheong. Oct 31

TOUR
If you’re a biker, ride it out this Halloween, as Harley-Davidson will be hosting The Witching Hour, where you can don a frightful outfit and head off into the night. Oct 31

PARTY
At The Riverhouse, the dead come alive to present a night filled with terror. Sip on the specially concocted The Killah, roam the halls ridden with zombies and never leave. Through Oct 31

WORKSHOP
An interactive workshop focusing on healing and acceptance will arrive at The Moon on Thursday. Learn to use positive affirmations to counter self-limiting beliefs and thoughts. Oct 31

MUSIC
Not into Halloween? Don’t worry. Head to a special edition of Live at the Hive that’ll feature folk/rock/pop band The Disclaimers. Just drink and dance the night away, as the duo will deliver a very musical experience at the Hive Lounge. Oct 31

FESTIVAL
Head down to the airport for an early check-in if you’re travelling anytime from now till Oct 31, as DFS is throwing a cocktail festival in celebration of all-things mixology. Expect them to pull out all the stops with activations across all four Changi Airport terminals, where you will get to taste, mix and enjoy your own concoctions. Through Oct 31

THEME PARK
Experience new frights at Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights as return for their ninth edition in September. With five haunted house, two scare zones and two special shows, the night will be promisingly eerie and filled with fright. Through Oct 31

PARTY
Potato Head Singapore will not be missing out on all the Halloween fun this season either— a customary Trick or Treat will be held at their doors and Studio 1939 is screening two iconic horror films. Resident DJ Matty Wainwright, however, will still be present to dish out tunes on the rooftop, should you want to get your groove on later in the evening. Oct 31

PLAY
Prepare to walk amongst the dead at Clarke Quay this Halloween, and challenge yourself at the five scare zones for chances to win attractive prizes like The Walking Dead premiums and Clarke Quay F&B vouchers. FESTIVAL
Returning this November is the long-standing, annual literary fiesta that is Singapore Writers Festival, with new festival director and poet Pooja Nansi at the helm. Themed "A Language of Our Own", the festival is now in its 22nd edition and will explore the role of language through the formation of communities and expression of identities in today’s age. SHOPPING
