Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the festival will kick off on Aug 3 with the Qixi Fest Street Party at Keong Saik Road, with events and workshops in three clan houses along with fringe activities and stage programmes from 5pm to 9 pm. From Aug 4 to 11, Chinatown Kreta Ayer Square will be home to the Qixi Fest Village with exhibitions on Qixi Festival origins, scavenger hunts, and merchandise booths.

Swimming and all sea activities are now permitted at Eagle Bay Beach, and beachfront businesses, including those offering water activities, have fully resumed operations. From Aug 17 to Sep 1, complimentary boat rides will be available between Sentosa Cove and Lazarus Island over three weekends. In celebration of the reopening, there will also be special promotions and offerings by various businesses.
Take part in Bingo Quest where visitors can collect stamps at participating outlets to redeem prizes (with a minimum spend). Get ready for three weekends of fun and nostalgia. “Art of Play” is the theme of Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2024, happening from Aug 23 to Sep 7 across the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct (BBB). Organised by the National Heritage Board (NHB), and supported by lead sponsor Samsung Singapore, Singapore’s largest nocturnal experience is set to take festivalgoers on a journey to explore and learn about the rich history of the precinct, with over 50 programmes that deep dive into the concept of play and childhood, including projection mapping artworks, performances, Festival Villages, Night Lights installations and partner programmes.

The works of three notable Singaporean jewellery designers are being highlighted at Asian Civilisations Museum’s debut show for contemporary local jewellery, aptly titled #SGJewelleryNow. The display is part of the ongoing #SGFashionNow: Runway Singapore exhibition, an annual fashion showcase that’s seeing its final – and largest ever – showing since it was inaugurated in 2021.
Pagoda Odyssey 1915: From Shanghai to San Francisco

An entire set of 84 hand-carved teakwood model pagodas has been painstakingly brought together and reunited for a special exhibition at the Asian Civilisations Museum. It chronicles the collection’s incredible journey, starting first from the Tushanwan Workshop in China, where the models were painstakingly carved by young artists under the watchful eye of artistically inclined priests.
