The Tour de France needs no introduction. The pinnacle of professional cycling, this is a competition where elite cyclists compete in a gruelling test as they cover an average of 3,500 kilometres over three weeks in their quest for glory.
If you can’t visit France to witness the race, then the Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium (TDF SG) is the next best thing for all cyclists and cycling enthusiasts. The Criterium format is a shorter race on a closed circuit, putting the cyclists’ speed and agility to the test.
TDF SG is organised by Evoke EXP and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board and leading life insurer Prudential Singapore. This year, TDF SG returns for its third edition on Nov 9 and 10 with a new route starting at Connaught Drive and taking the cyclists past some of the city’s most iconic sights.
Catch star cyclists such as defending TDF SG champion Jasper Philipsen as he returns with three Tour de France stage wins under his belt, and legendary sprinter Mark Cavendish who will be participating in his last professional race at this competition. Also in the line-up are four-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome and young star Biniam Girmay. The latter is the first black African to win stages in the Tour de France and the green jersey in the points classification.
And similar to previous years, Prudential Singapore will be organising classes through the PRURide Seeker’s Society, an exclusive cycling club which aims to help people who want to learn how to become better cyclists. Members will stand the chance to qualify for a spot at the PRURide Seeker’s Criterium, the only event for non-professional cyclists to participate in during the race weekend.

In addition to the action on the circuit, spectators can also enjoy a lively and engaging programme off the race track, with the inauguration of TDF SG Family Day. Bring the whole tribe and enjoy games, entertainment and food. New partner, homegrown bicycle-sharing firm Anywheel, will be providing bicycles for free to participants of the Family Ride and Breakfast Ride so that more participants get the chance to enjoy a cycle around the race circuit without the hassle of needing to bring their own bike.
