Running throughout August and September, this year’s Hua Hin Golf Festival lets you enjoy special green fees at just THB1,000 ($38.95) per round, plus THB300 ($11.68) caddy fees, at a host of participating golf courses, including Royal Hua Hin, Palm Hills, Imperial Lake View, Springfield Royal, Majestic Creek, The Eagle Milford, Sea Pine Golf Club, Sawang Resort and the Kaeng Krachan Country Club. The Black Mountain and Banyan golf clubs will also take part in the festival, but green fees will rise to THB1,800 ($70.11), with THB300 ($11.68) for caddy fees. Still ridiculously cheap, we say.
To get to Hua Hin, hop on a Tigerair flight to Bangkok (around $360 upwards for a round-trip itinerary) before getting a cab (usually around THB1000 to 3000 or $38.95 upwards, depending on your negotiating skills) to Hua Hin. Transport from central Hua Hin to the golf course can be arranged for at least two players per trip. Visit www.huahingolffestival.com for more info.
