New gin and vodka flavours arrive just in time for the festive season

Besides enjoying festive menus and log cakes, you can also indulge in these new gins and a made-in-Singapore vodka as you welcome the new year. Cheers!

Stranger & Sons
This proudly Indian gin, a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit and diverse cultures of the sub-continent, has landed on our sunny shores. Founded in 2018 by three gin lovers from Mumbai, it has a robust flavour thanks to a blend of black pepper, nutmeg, mace, coriander, liquorice, cassia bark, angelica, juniper and a medley of four aromatic citrus peels.

It marked its entry here with the ‘Strange Times’ initiative during the circuit breaker period. It offered a collection of pre-batch cocktails made in collaboration with some of Singapore’s best bars such as 28 HongKong Street, Tippling Club, Neon Pigeon, The Old Man and Native.

Recently, it won the ‘Gold-Outstanding’ prize at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2020, making it the only Indian brand to be recognised at the competition. Boosting the brand is Kaustubh Negi, senior bartender at The Old Man Singapore, who has joined as regional ambassador. Stranger & Sons is distributed by locally based distribution company Dyspatchr.

Merlion Vodka by Singapore Distillery
Singapore Distillery was born out of an idea to make great spirits using Asia’s greatest resource—its diverse array of herbs and spices. After the launch of its six unique gins, the Ang Mo Kio-based distillery has expanded into the vodka category with their newest addition, Merlion Vodka.

Distilled from European winter wheat, this vodka offers a light and crisp flavour profile that can be mixed beautifully or sipped neat. The spirit is distilled five times to produce a vodka that proudly claims to be as “smooth as silk”. It is then diluted to 40 per cent ABV to create the perfect balance with a clean taste and a light grain flavour on the tongue.

It is available for purchase here and at select local retailers.

Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice by Hendrick’s Gin
Inspired by the summer solstice (the longest day of the year), Hendrick’s Gin has launched Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice, a limited-edition gin that captures the bright, aromatic intensity of a day at the height of summer.

It is enchantingly refreshing on the palate, thanks to the infusion of deeply floral essences that enhances the existing botanical bouquet. Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice is retailing at major e-commerce retailers like Grab Mart, William Grant & Sons LazMall and iShopChangi. Gin lovers can also indulge a selection of Midsummer Solstice tipples available now at over 50 watering holes islandwide.
