January may have come and gone, but the second month of the year presents yet another opportunity for us to live it up. So go ahead and party at V-Day soirees of all kinds, or check out the various musical performances happening this February. Just ride the wave people; the party continues.  

PARTY
At Ce La Vi’s club lounge on Saturday night, expect a deep house musical performance by none other than Claptone. The German DJ recognised only by his signature golden bird mask will dish out tracks like C.R.E.A.M., and many more. We’ll see you guys on the dance floor. Feb 1

After debuting their range of four core beers, Off Day Beer Company is throwing a party in light of their merch launch. Just as well, since we're always looking for an excuse to get down. Bust out your dancing shoes, it’s time to strut it out at The Vibez Bar, located at hipster neighbourhood Tiong Bahru. Thrill-seekers, here’s your chance to live it up at Singapore’s one and only bungy jump site, AJ Hackett Sentosa. There’ll be so many things to do within a day, as 15 artists will compete on canvas, four awesome DJs will helm the decks to take you to yet another kinda high, and super wallet-friendly drinks will be made available for purchase. Kampong Boogie is back—expect a no-frills discotheque at the Victoria Wholesale Centre rooftop on Saturday evening. Special guest The DONN aka Don Wang and the KB all-stars will be there, so get ready to party till late. Feb 1

FESTIVAL
The Chingay Parade is back, and this time, their dynamic showcase is themed “Colours in Harmony”, to showcase Singapore’s multiculturalism and diversity. Approximately 6,000 volunteer performers will be involved in co-presenting this People’s Parade, and some of the highlights include the world’s biggest and longest flying dragon, the release of 200m-long firecrackers, as well as the beloved cultural performances by local talents and international acts. Indulge in a Sunday Wine Down at PS.Cafe at Martin 38, as their Syrah Bazaar will showcase an intoxicating collection of Shiraz and Syrah from far flung reaches of the wine world. Just come, discover and learn about the different wines offered. Feb 2

Bring only good vibes to Soul Vibe Sundays, as Camp Kilo will be presenting a great backyard BBQ with some feel good music and even surprises along the way. Just knock back a couple of cocktails and feast on hearty roasts. It doesn’t get better than this. Feb 2

Intermission bar at The Projector is hosting yet another fun night, and this February, be sure to get your game on as a Film Quiz Night will be happening soon. Happy hour runs from 5-7pm, while quiz time takes place from 7-8pm. You know what to do. Feb 4

Witness Indonesian rapper Ramengvrl spit bars of lyrics live, as the phenom will be making her return to Singapore alongside special guest Rriley, a former member of The Sam Willows. A thunderous show has been promised; your Friday is about to get a lot more interesting. Feb 7

Pour it up; the Godfather of techno is in town on Friday night to help you get the party started. You’ll find him at none other than Ce La Vi, delivering electronic trance tunes, exclusively on vinyl. Feb 7

Now known as Diego78 instead of Wasabi night, Diego78: Vinyls Night at The Projector will make sure you receive the same chill, laid back nights with quality music. Among the line-up is DJ Goofy, DJ Mikity not Mickey, and DJ Shin. Feb 8

MUSIC
Bringing some of our favourite local bands like alt-rock quartet Coming Up Roses and shoegazers Motifs to a cosy and intimate venue to rock and chill out is Sounds From the Living Room at Tonehouse Studios SG. Grab your friends; it’ll be an evening filled with good vibes. Feb 8

FOOD/FESTIVAL
Recreating a downsized version of the popular Ningxia Night Market from Taipei at Sentosa is Asian Night Market: Taiwan Food Festival. Head to the popular beach destination to check out the stretch along Siloso Point and Siloso Beach, as more than 30 stall vendors will be flying in from Taiwan to set up shop there and dish out eats. FOOD/DRINK/PARTY
Feast at Kilo Brunch Club, which now boasts a brand new brunch menu. Look forward to brunch classics like chorizo huevos rancheros, fried chicken and waffles, and grilled cheese toastie, plus other dishes that have been given the #KiloKitchen twist. It won’t be a brunch party without drinks and music, so enjoy drink promos, live musical performances and DJ sets. Feb 9

For Park Bench Deli’s first collaboration of 2020, they’re offering a modern Mexican Japanese and Filipino brunch with Chino MNL and Handsome Chinos, while launching their limited-release Koen no Benchi Yuzu Ale, a Park Bench Deli collaboration beer with Hitachino Nest Beer Singapore and Kiuchi Brewery. Tunes will also be provided, thanks to the crew from Darker Than Wax. Head over with an empty stomach and a mood to groove. Feb 9

MUSIC
Join Sing’theatre at their Musical Theatre Open Mic Night at Lowercase Cafe, as the event will allow you to showcase your talent in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Led by Sam Bracking and the theatre academy’s own musical theatre teacher, TJ Taylor, meet other local musical theatre performers and junkies, and just share your love for the genre together. Feb 10

MUSIC
American acapella group Pentatonix aka PTX has just wrapped their 44-date North American run and will be stopping by The Star Theatre as part of their world tour. Be sure to catch the three-time Grammy Award-winning vocal sensation live in Singapore this February. Tickets from $108. Feb 11

Party people The Council has returned with Daryl Knows to get you on the dance floor as he’s getting behind the decks again to offer a fun-filled night of house, funk and feel-good beats. Find him at Headquarters, near Boat Quay. Feb 12

MUSIC
One of the pioneering bands in the punk rock industry, Belfast-hailing Stiff Little Fingers have been in the business since the late 1970s as one of the first few prominent international punk bands, among the likes of the Sex Pistols and Ramones. After four decades of experience, the band is still led by frontman Jake Burns, and will be playing in Singapore for the first time. Feb 13

FOOD/DRINK
Music, food and fun will collide across four days at Resorts World Sentosa, thanks to Let’s Go Jalan Jalan, which spotlights local treats, live music by talented artistes, as well as workshops. Since the popular Crane Dance will be departing from the lifestyle destination come Mar 1, the festival will also host a public farewell to the attraction, so don’t miss that too. Feb 13-16

Bringing the sass to Valentine’s Day is Lulu’s Lounge, as they’ll be throwing another soiree, but elevated. Throwing an anti-Valentine’s Day party is Lucha Loco at Duxton Hill, for those who are a little naughty and definitely not nice. There’ll be cheeky games, a pop-up store by The Hedonist, and an iconic bash-your-ex pinata. A best dressed competition will be held too, hosted by drag queen Farrah Shamrock, so be dressed to kill. Need a romantic dining spot away from the hustle and bustle of the city? Head to Wheeler’s Estate then, as this Valentine’s Day, they’re celebrating love with a modern European Valentine’s Day set. Wine pairings are also available, and every couple will be presented with a rose, although only the first 20 couples to book their seats will be charmed with a personalised gift. Feb 14

Pay no mind to Valentine’s Day at Zouk as 100% Bulletproof is presenting Ghetto with his guest Nuckin’ Futs at the nightclub’s main room. DJs will be playing mashups of genres ranging from hardstyle, hip-hop, big room and more, keeping you moving all night long. Feb 14

If silent discos are your thing (we don’t judge), party it up at Piedra Negra as Haji Lane’s largest open-air silent single disco is coming your way. Three DJs will be named, but you can definitely expect hip-hop, EDM, Bollywood tunes at the event. Feb 14

In collaboration with Odinson and Street Noise, music people Uncouth will be presenting Power Trip live in Singapore. Formed in Dallas, Texas back in 2008, Power Trip delivers raw, emotive energy through songs influenced by the punk and hardcore genre. The Actually Affordable Artist Market is returning for its 5th edition at Camp Kilo Charcoal Club come Saturday; look no further than this market to find wallet-friendly artworks and connect with like-minded art lovers. Feb 16

RUN
We’ve definitely seen our fair share of bizarre races, but here’s a new Nasi Lemak Run which we can safely say we did not see coming. In all seriousness, the Nasi Lemak Run will be held at MacRitchie Reservoir, from 7:30am onwards. There’ll be a total of three races, with the Normal Nasi Lemak (4km) and Upsized Nasi Lemak (8km) being options for adults. Remember that you’ll be running for your love of the dish, which you will receive a packet of, at the end of your race. Feb 16

COMEDY
Showcase your single friends while having a good laugh at Date My Friend: A Powerpoint Show that celebrates friendship in a new and wholesome way. It’ll be an open mic night of sorts, so head down to The Hive Carpenter on Tuesday night and don’t forget to bring your single buds. Feb 18

MUSIC
Think Rock N’ Roll’s dead? Head to Wheeler’s Estate and have your mind changed. Go ahead and revisit the golden ages of the ‘80s rock classics with local band Reverie, and rock out to the likes of AC/DC, Guns N Roses and other influential rock staples. Feb 19

PARTY
Putting on a much-needed mid-week boogie night is Powder Social Club at Boat Quay’s Headquarters, so join in the fun as deejays Jztn and Lemak will be pulling out all the stops for you to get your groove on. Feb 19

Ladies Night continues at Publico Ristorante with My Man Is Out Of Town, where DJ Zafirah will be spinning vocal house from 7pm - 10pm, and Bottega Prosecco will be dished out from 6pm-9pm for just $35. Feb 19 

DRINK
Celebrating their fifth anniversary is Shin Gi Tai with its Night of the Japanese Masters, a one-night only guest shift, hosted in collaboration with Remy Martin and Cointreau. Japanese bartenders Hisashi Kishi of Star Bar and Bar High Five’s Hidetsugu Ueno will be serving six special cocktail blends featuring Remy Martin cognac, Cointreau liqueur, Bruichladdich whiskey and The Botanist gin. Renowned R&B-inspired pop quartet 98° will be joining the lengthy list of musicians and bands set to perform in Singapore this February. Reuniting to perform hits like "I Do (Cherish You)", "The Hardest Thing and Because Of You", this performance will bring back major memories as the group will be serenading fans for just one special night. THEATRE
Welcome Pangdemonium’s 10th year with them as the theatre company opens their first 2020 season with The Son, a play about an increasingly erratic teenager shuttling between his divorced parents. It’s a timely and important exploration about mental health issues, directed by Tracie Pang, starring Shona Benson, Serene Chan, Nazray, Zachary Pang and of course, Adrian Pang himself. Feb 20-Mar 7

COMEDY
Named one of Comedy Central’s Comics to Watch, Jono Zalay also received international attention for his pranks on the Department of Motor Vehicles. A frequent comedy festival act, Zalay will finally be in Singapore with his own show this month. Catch him at The Merry Lion on Friday and Saturday. Feb 21-22

FOOD/DRINK
Be in for a treat at Eatbox 2020, as the boutique version of Artbox is returning for its second year at Downtown East over two weekends in February. Grab eats from Hong Kong, Indonesia, and of course, Singapore, as Eatbox will be boasting culinary gems from these three countries. Feb 21-Mar 1

PARTY 
Marquee Singapore is hosting Marquee Academy come Friday evening, where you can go on an eventful journey with their residents DJs as these guys will dish out chart-topping hits all-night. Slip down Marquee’s three-storey slide and get a bird’s eye view of the gorgeous nightclub when you go on a ferris wheel ride too. Feb 22

If you’re looking for a magical night, Woods in the Books has got your back. A Night of Witchcraft and Wizardry is arriving this Friday; get dressed in wizarding robes, play games and test your knowledge of Harry Potter trivia. Afrocentric beats, sandy shores and tipples? Yes, please. Tanjong Beach Club is hosting its well-loved Barefoot Tiki Nights, so come dressed in tropical-themed outfits and dip your toes in the water with a pina colada in hand. Feb 22

SHOW
Yas gawd, our prayers have been answered, for it’s been confirmed that some of our favourite queens will return to our shores to serve charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent. Come end February, expect a one-night only, show-stopping performance riddled with glamour, as the RuPaul Drag Race’s Werq The World Tour (R18) will take on the humble venue of The Star Vista, transforming it into a wild spectacle to behold. FILM/FESTIVAL
Following its inaugural launch last year, the Singapore Mental Health Film Festival is making its return this month with more movie and short film screenings, panel discussions, as well as the addition of workshops this time around. Enjoy movement and yoga classes, as well as art therapy sessions. Feb 27-Mar 1

V-Day isn’t the only opportunity of the month to wine and dine; head to The Cliff, where the Sofitel Wine Dinner will take place, for a night of exquisite dishes and tantalising wines. Expect duck ragu, wagyu beef short rib and so much more. Feb 28

Meatsmith Telok Ayer is turning five this month, and is throwing a hell of a party to thank its loyal patrons for their support. Art will be brought to life via a large and limited edition Sideways Burger ($50), packed with classic Meatsmith dishes, and tunes will be brought to you by DJ Matty from The DJ Dispensary. DRINK
This Leap Day, head to JW Marriott Singapore South Beach as Tonic Bar presents an intimate gin tasting and presentation led by Kino Soh, Brass Lion Distillery’s Brand Ambassador. The Singapore Biennale has returned for its sixth edition, promising over 150 artworks in various mediums across 11 different venues in our city. EXHIBITION
Discover Singapore’s early history at On Paper: Singapore Before 1867 which features over 150 paper-based artefacts that tell the story of Singapore’s early history. Carefully preserved pieces like the 17th century Portugese navigational chart that points to the existence of a Shahbandar in Singapore and a key document that established the Straits Settlements as a Crown Colony of Great Britain in 1867 can all be found at the National Library Building. EXHIBITION
Explore the 200 years leading up to the establishment of an entrepot in Singapore in 1819, beginning with the trade in the East Indies which attracted the Dutch and the British during the early 17th century. You'll embark on a journey through An Old New World, which features over 220 artefacts including pieces on-loan from institutional and private collections. Through Mar 29

EXHIBITION
Attain a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse at some of your favourite Disney animated films as the ArtScience Museum will be presenting Disney: Magic of Animation, for the first time ever in Southeast Asia. Over 500 pieces of art from a wide array of films will be displayed at this landmark exhibition, including artist sketches, audio-visual displays, projections and interactive activities.
