Recreating a downsized version of the popular Ningxia Night Market from Taipei at Sentosa is Asian Night Market: Taiwan Food Festival. Head to the popular beach destination to check out the stretch along Siloso Point and Siloso Beach, as more than 30 stall vendors will be flying in from Taiwan to set up shop there and dish out eats. Feast at Kilo Brunch Club, which now boasts a brand new brunch menu. One of the pioneering bands in the punk rock industry, Belfast-hailing Stiff Little Fingers have been in the business since the late 1970s as one of the first few prominent international punk bands, among the likes of the Sex Pistols and Ramones. After four decades of experience, the band is still led by frontman Jake Burns, and will be playing in Singapore for the first time. Feb 13

Music, food and fun will collide across four days at Resorts World Sentosa, thanks to Let’s Go Jalan Jalan, which spotlights local treats, live music by talented artistes, as well as workshops. RUN
We’ve definitely seen our fair share of bizarre races, but here’s a new Nasi Lemak Run which we can safely say we did not see coming. In all seriousness, the Nasi Lemak Run will be held at MacRitchie Reservoir, from 7:30am onwards. There’ll be a total of three races, with the Normal Nasi Lemak (4km) and Upsized Nasi Lemak (8km) being options for adults. Remember that you’ll be running for your love of the dish, which you will receive a packet of, at the end of your race. Feb 16

COMEDY

Celebrating their fifth anniversary is Shin Gi Tai with its Night of the Japanese Masters, a one-night only guest shift, hosted in collaboration with Remy Martin and Cointreau. THEATRE
Welcome Pangdemonium’s 10th year with them as the theatre company opens their first 2020 season with The Son, a play about an increasingly erratic teenager shuttling between his divorced parents. It’s a timely and important exploration about mental health issues, directed by Tracie Pang, starring Shona Benson, Serene Chan, Nazray, Zachary Pang and of course, Adrian Pang himself. Feb 20-Mar 7

COMEDY
Named one of Comedy Central’s Comics to Watch, Jono Zalay also received international attention for his pranks on the Department of Motor Vehicles. Following its inaugural launch last year, the Singapore Mental Health Film Festival is making its return this month with more movie and short film screenings, panel discussions, as well as the addition of workshops this time around. Discover Singapore’s early history at On Paper: Singapore Before 1867 which features over 150 paper-based artefacts that tell the story of Singapore’s early history. Carefully preserved pieces like the 17th century Portugese navigational chart that points to the existence of a Shahbandar in Singapore and a key document that established the Straits Settlements as a Crown Colony of Great Britain in 1867 can all be found at the National Library Building. EXHIBITION
Explore the 200 years leading up to the establishment of an entrepot in Singapore in 1819, beginning with the trade in the East Indies which attracted the Dutch and the British during the early 17th century.
